South African Jewellery Valuers
The main governing body for the jewellery industry in South Africa is the Jewellery Council of South Africa. Whilst this Association primarily serves the needs of Retail Jewellers, manufacturers and their customers, jewellery valuers also have the opportunity to join and be bound by their Code of Ethics. Many Jewellery Valuers in South Africa also tend to align themselves with Gemmological Associations abroad such as Gem-A and AGA.
